Fundamentals Class
Our take on a traditional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Class.
The Fundamentals class uses both individual movement and partner focused drilling followed by situational sparring to teach the body mechanics and proper application of techniques that are almost completely foreign to most athletes.
This is a great starting point for someone with no experience, and the perfect setting for a more experienced player looking to practice and drill their techniques.

The Lab
For those who learn better by doing, the Lab is centered around fluid information transfer and live application of technique against a resisting opponent.
If it works, it’s right! Try new things and see if they work. Rather than a set lesson plan, we address questions as they arise within their context.
Experience is recommended but not required.
Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
A Gi is a Japanese uniform adopted by many traditional Martial Arts. The Jiu Jitsu Gi, similar to that used in Judo, is a thicker material than what is used in striking arts. The cloth provides opportunities for grips that allow you to hold onto your opponent and makes a great stand in to simulate clothing worn in colder climates for self defense applications. The control provided by the gi presents endless opportunities to off balance and submit your opponent, creating a highly technical game of kinetic chess.
NoGi Grappling
Nogi grappling drastically changes the grip options available during a match, and is often preferred by wrestlers and MMA fighters. Emphasizing control and precision while eliminating the threat of excess cloth, an athlete is potentially able to create opportunities to move and escape where the friction or grip of a Gi might otherwise hinder them, while limiting the offensive weapons for control and submission to one’s own body.
What do we teach?
Starting any new endeavor can be like trying to drink from a firehose! Two of the most common questions we get from people new to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are “How long does it take to get a blue belt?” and “Is there a list of what I need to learn?” For the casual participant, it usually takes between 18 months to 2 years, and yes actually, there is a list of what needs to be learned.
